Ethics Final Paper Instructions and Rubric
Choose a topic of an ethical issue that is of interest to you that is relevant to nurses/nursing practice. You must receive approval of your topic from the class professor before writing your paper. Ideally, you will choose a topic in which you do not have great deal of knowledge or pre-conceived ideas. This topic will also be relevant to nursing practice. Journals and articles other than those in the nursing profession may be considered. This assignment is a formally written paper in APA format, 7th edition. A minimum of three professional references is required. You may use internet sites and articles but they will not be counted as a professional citation. A pdf. version of the paper may NOT be submitted—only a Word document that can be edited will be accepted.
· The term “ethical dilemma” refers to a situation where choices need to be made, the answers may not be clear, the options are not ideal and there may be active barriers to a reasonable solution
· The topic is objectively defined and described. As nurses we have a duty to our patients to advocate for them. At the same time, we must keep ourselves out of the situation. This section must address the topic with objectivity and facts.
· Write in the third person until you are to provide your personal professional response.
· At least three professional nursing journal articles should be cited to substantiate the facts that are relevant to the topic
· The paper introduction should be submitted in APA style (7th edition). Please familiarize yourself with APA and how to cite references. The following websites are helpful APA style references. https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_style_introduction.html

EXAMPLES
Wild Labs
Through your generous donations, the WILDLABS community was formed, and its greatest strength is the diversity and variety in the members’ expertise, skill sets, interests, and areas of research. By providing a space dedicated to making conservation technology information accessible and open to everyone, WILDLABS allows its members to stretch their knowledge beyond the boundaries of their own field or organization. The cross-industry connections made through the platform’s forums, virtual events, and social media spark insightful discussions and fresh ideas. This collaboration often leads to real-world results, as demonstrated by projects launched through WILDLABS partnerships like the Human-Wildlife Conflict Tech Challenge with WWF, members’ collaborations like BearID, and many other innovative initiatives.
Project C.A.T.
Discovery Communications joined our efforts in 2016 with Project CAT, a ground-breaking, six-year collaboration with WWF aimed to ensure a healthy habitat for future generation of tigers by helping conserve nearly six million acres of protected land across four countries. Moreover, Discovery has mobilized its vast network to ignite global awareness and fuel additional investments into this incredibly ambitious and visionary goal—making our goal even more achievable. We are honored that Jam City has now joined this coalition of NGOs, governments, scientists, rangers, local communities, corporations, consumers, citizen conservationists and celebrities.
Your investment will help us fight poachers; root out illegal logging and expand the amount of forest under effective conservation; and help communities better address human-tiger conflict. Together, we will ensure the future of these iconic species.
Australia Fires Emergency Fund
There are no words to adequately describe the impact of the devastation to Australia. Loss of human life and an estimated 1.25 billion animals, including thousands of koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, gliders, potoroos, cockatoos, honeyeaters and other iconic species.
This loss in many forests will take decades to recover and the crisis is potentially pushing some animals closer to the brink of extinction.
The full extent of the damage has yet to be determined. But what we do know is that donors like you have made it possible for WWF to meet the immediate response to the fires, crisis recovery, and long-term conservation efforts toward securing Australia's natural resources for people and nature in a time of climate emergency.
WWF’s mission is to build a world in which people live in harmony with nature. This is our moment. We are privileged to be entrusted with your investment to seize this moment to innovate – to both rethink and create a new future for Australia.
